Whomo

Well,  there probably isn’t a more suitable week for popping this up and out there, is there? On the fiftieth anniversary of the BBC’s favourite franchise and my favourite telly signature tune, I’ve finally completed a studio mix of my love letter to Doctor Who.

Featuring four of the boys from the Electro Pops Orchestra, Whomo was Momo’s first ever cover version, arranged especially for Phonicon 2013 back in April. A splendid finale to a marvelous weekend of nerdery at the Exeter Phoenix Arts, you may recall, relived a few times on YouTube, but only outed as a studio mix once, on The Phonic Screwdriver.

Now, after a bit of tinkering here, you can enjoy a free download of Momo:tempo’s take on Grainer and Derbyshire’s epic awesome brilliant wonderful evocative theme to a TV show that could be described by millions in the same affectionate way. Lord knows how you’ll describe this take on it, though – mainly I just wanted to fug out to it.

Go on, get your voluminous nerd dancing trousers on. And spot the arrangement references, you irrepressible geek, you.
