After a summer entertaining crowds in 36o° on one pier, Nudge is released as a single and makes its live debut on another, on Saturday October 20th 2012 – as the Momo:tempo Electro Pops Orchestra ride out with a host of other acts to support Oxjam’s biggest day of the year.
Across October each year, international aid agency Oxfam promotes its national music festival, Oxjam – and on one day, all over the UK, local talent plays together to help raise money for some desperate global situations. And this year in Bournemouth, Timo Peach will be swooshing from behind the velvet drapes of the Pier Theatre to host part of the Oxjam Takeover’s End Of The Pier Review show.
Featuring a splendidly eclectic line-up of all manner of musical and creative talent from the central south coast – including creative tour-de-force Mutant Vinyl and the impossibly infectious Mother Ukers – The Bomo Takeover this year takes place across three venues – including Sixty Million Postcards and Smokin’ Aces. Cohosting a whole day of performances in the pier alone, multi-talent Martin Roberts will also be appearing with his legendary band The Powdered Cows.
Momo will be celebrating the release of two mixes of Nudge that day with a first outing for the song live – featuring all hands on deck from the Electro Pops talents, including the four-part horn department, some legendary live percussion and big-ass live beats around the electro-twiddles and occasional piano bothering. Momo live is a sound like no other.
Oxjam events take place all over the UK and are organised by people who know and love their local music scene – all in aid of Oxfam. Since 2006, more than 36,000 musicians have played to an audience of over 750,000 people at almost 3,000 Oxjam events, raising in excess of £1 million to fight poverty and improve the lives of the world’s poorest people.
