The first ever live outing...
SBS One begins its screening...

The first ever live outing of the Momo:tempo Electro Pops Orchestra in its own back yard and the launch of the production release of current album, The Golden Age of Exploration, forms just part of a whole evening celebrating the arts and original new live music, with some bloke or other leading proceedings. JUNE 2011.
It's hard to imagine, but Momo:tempo's home town has yet to play host to the unique live sound of its half bonkers electro-funk theatre. But it's finally happening – on Sunday night, 12th June 2011 at Bournemouth's best underground music venue, Champions. And it's going to be more than you bargained for.
Hosted by Momo himself, Timo Peach, Tell And Show promises to be, in his own words: "a jolly serious celebration of original live music and a little riot of art – a creative showcase of brand new beats, tunes, words, voices and marks."
Featuring a diverse rosta of original musical talent – from Bournemouth's own Funky Little Choir, to Manchester's upcoming catchy electro-pop stars, Schmoo, to the beatboxing skills of Sko-P – Tell And Show will also feature live art demos from Moon Street and AUCB, spoken word wizardry from Little Orphan Boy and an exclusive preview screening of Drying For Freedom, White Lantern's new feature production, along with micro exhibitions from other fashion, art and design creatives.
"Yes," says Timo, "it sounds like a bit of a mad creative mix of things for one little evening. And I can only imagine it will be. I have no idea yet, as I've not been to it."
Organised by Bournemouth's Strawberry Fields Represents, the evening is designed to be a celebration of the arts and an encouragement to and highlight of other creative work happening all over the seaside town, Timo explains. Plus, of course, the chance for him to bring Momo's live sound to a home audience at last.
"Getting Momo:tempo out of the studio onto a stage is all at once the most natural thing to do and a very tricky thing to do. Electronic music is a tough thing to get right in a live atmosphere, but I'm simply excited about playing to the natural theatre of the sound" he says. "Our little line-up in this incarnation features some amazing talent – from the fabulous jazz brass skills of John Herbison, leading the horn section, to a guest appearance by local percussion legend, Simon Mellish, helping me and Momo's own groove guru Mark Adkins bring the beats and daft tunes to life.
"But to put it into a wider creative context and use it as an excuse to shout about other artists – and crucially about the creative work going on all over Bournemouth – well, that's kind of perfect as an idea. I can't wait."
It will also represent the production release of Momo:tempo's Golden Age of Exploration, out as a download since November.
"Indeed," Momo adds, "we're very excited to release official CD copies of the album – which will currently only be available at shows, so this is one heck of a rare opportunity to grab a fab slice of what we do."
